So for the record, before I pull myself out of bed to come skin you alive, did you give me this magic poisoning?
Second question, which will decide how slowly I skin you: have you given this poisoning to Artemis as well?
Holly
Okay Opal, I’m not getting into some long conversation in which we hand over insults and threaten each other- I’m really not in the mood. I’ve been vomiting all night, I cannot feel my feet, and I have seventeen needles stuck into my skin in random, variously unpleasant places.
So here’s the deal: If your ‘better things to do’ involves Artemis in any way, then I cannot convey to you how much pain I will inflict on you. And I will find you, trust me. Even if I have to scour the whole d’arvitting globe, over and under it, to find your ratty little face.
Consider yourself warned, Miss Koboi.
Holly
Simple answer: No.
When I was very very small, my mother tried to get me to do dancing lessons. Like the fairy equivalent of ballet. It wasn’t pretty. I may be light on my feet when it comes to sneaking around after goblins, but that doesn’t mean I have any sense of rhythm at all.
As for the other arts, I simply do not have the time. Although now I’m stuck in bed, maybe I’ll branch out and start sketching, or something?
Really, Opal? Don’t you have anything better to do? Handing yourself over to the LEP, for example? And Foaly isn’t about to let my current state stop him from hunting you down and making sure you get a nice cell full of hungry trolls. I’m getting a front row seat, personally.
Don’t mess with a grumpy elf stuck in bed, Opal Koboi. Frond tried that, and now she’s spending the morning getting her front teeth put back in. Not ashamed at all.
Holly
Artemis will get over it, don’t worry. He’s rather used to emotional females blowing up at him after all, considering the amount of time he spends with me, generally being infuriating. I hope he calls me soon too, but at the moment all I can do is wait and trust him to be alright. And there’s no one i have more faith in than him.
Holly xx
Thanks for the best wishes, it’s always nice to have support during times like these! Don’t worry, I’m resting- I really don’t have much choice as movement just isn’t an option. I feel like passing out if I just sit up a bit straighter, so getting out of bed isn’t going to work at the moment! Hopefully the poison will be out of my system soon and I’ll be able to get my magic on the case, fingers crossed!

Captain Holly Short is well and truly back in the world of the living!! Well, almost. I’m still in hospital, still wired up to about a million machines and still unable to stand up without collapsing and suffering some form of organ failure (trust me, I tried). But i can type on a computer and can, you know, breathe on my own. Which is always nice.
So Foaly doesn’t quite know what happened yet, or how I managed to live. We lost contact with Artemis about a week ago, halfway through a conversation with Foaly on the best way to save me. Looking at his blog and the messages he’s left on my phone, it looks like Spiro is to blame. Which is making being stuck in bed even more difficult. Anyway, Foaly managed to work something out with No. 1 from Artemis’ half-explanation, and here I am.
Artemis, if you can see this: please pick up your phone and tell me you’re alive. Because right now, I’m inches away from jumping out of my bed and running to find you, regardless of how many organs I lose along the way. And if anyone else happens to know anything about Artemis’ whereabouts, please let me know. As for Spiro…well if he’s hurt Artemis then I am finding the nearest troll and setting it loose in his bedroom while he sleeps. And that is a promise.
In the meantime, I’m not allowed to spend too much time on the computer as it makes my head hurt, and because I have to spend 60% of the day asleep at the moment. So please do not be alarmed if any questions sent my way take a while to be answered.

Apologies for the lack of news being posted here- understandably things are a little hectic at the moment. I’m pleased to say, however, that Holly is on the mend. No, she isn’t quite awake yet but Foaly has managed to find something to keep her condition from deteriorating further. We had a few patchy moments beforehand, though, in which we almost lost Holly, but hopefully things will be on the up from now.
Unfortunately, Artemis is still proving very difficult to track down. He’s not answering any calls anymore and if it wasn’t for the fact that its Holly who is in danger, I’d be very suspicious that he caused this. In actual fact, though, I’m more suspicious that something has happened to him as well. Foaly’s on that task for the moment, so we can only hope that he turns up. In the mean time, I remind everyone who cares about Holly to keep calm and not fuss- also if you do happen to see Master Fowl wandering around up top, please tell him that the elf he claims to care so much about could use some help, much appreciated.
Best wishes,

Thanks for the concern, but unfortunately Holly is no different. She is stable, and she’s alive- but she’s firmly in a coma now. No. 1 is doing all he can but without the amethyst or any information on the amethyst, it’s very difficult to do anything. Foaly is currently in ‘negotiations’ with Artemis Fowl, but he’s being rather tight-lipped about it all, which leads me to conclude that he’s probably agreeing to things I won’t be very happy about.
At this point, though, I think it’s safe to say that those who care about Captain Short are getting a little desperate. I can only hope people keep their cool and don’t do anything stupid.
Best wishes,
Commander Trouble Kelp.
No, it won’t help Holly which is why I’m very much staying away from Artemis Fowl. Needless to say I’m pretty furious with him, to put it lightly. Also with Holly for getting involved in his ridiculous escapades, though admittedly less so. Anyway, Foaly’s dealing with it for the good of us all. So fingers crossed we can have Holly up and healthy again in the next few days.
